The legendary Noon to Moon returns to Merry Pebbles Resort in Sabie on Saturday, 6 December 2025, bringing together endurance, teamwork, and pure mountain biking joy in one incredible day.

This iconic 10-hour endurance mountain bike relay challenges riders to complete as many laps as possible from 10:00 to 20:00, racing across Sabie’s fast and flowing trails. Whether you’re chasing the podium or simply soaking up the vibe, Noon to Moon delivers the perfect balance of competition and camaraderie.

The Race Format
The 10-hour Noon to Moon endurance relay is open to:
Teams of 3 riders, or
Teams of 4 riders (if at least one rider is female).

Each team aims to complete as many laps as possible around a 7.5 km cross-country loop, featuring a mix of flat jeep track and flowing singletrack through Sabie’s beautiful pine forests.
Riders manage their own strategy — deciding how long to ride, when to switch, and how to keep the momentum going right up to the 20:00 finish.

Start: 10:00 (Saturday, 6 December 2025)
Finish: 20:00
Lap Distance: 7.5 km
Teams: 3 riders, or 4 riders (if at least one female rider is included)
Solo Category: Riders aged 19 years and older only
Venue: Merry Pebbles Resort, Sabie

Junior Race – 12 Years and Younger
For our youngest riders, the 6-hour Noon to Moon Junior Race gives kids aged 12 and under a chance to experience the excitement of endurance mountain biking on a shorter, age-appropriate course.
Start: 10:00
Finish: 16:00
Format: Fun, endurance-style event for individuals or small teams
Course: Safe, well-marked loop designed specifically for young riders

The Jokerlap – A Race Within the Race
Add a twist of strategy and adrenaline with the Jokerlap — a voluntary mini-race that can give your team the upper hand if played smart!
Each participant receives a tag from the timekeepers, which acts as your entry pass to the Jokerlap.

Jokerlap Rules & Details:
Entry: Each rider gets one tag – no tag, no Jokerlap
Voluntary: Riders choose whether or not to take part
Lap: Shorter than the standard Noon to Moon lap
Strategy: Smart team tactics can work to your advantage — if one or more teammates complete the Jokerlap, it could count in your favor
Cut-Off Time: 15:00 — no late tags will be accepted
Tag Procedure: Tag in at the top and tag out at the bottom
Riding Tip: You can ride easy to the top (but risk losing time) or go full-gas from the start — your choice!
Spacing Rule: Maintain a minimum 30-second gap between riders at the top to ensure fairness — please give each other a chance
Bonus Challenge: The Jokerlap is a race within the race — giving every participant a chance to win twice
Tag Return: Tags must be handed in immediately after completing the Jokerlap
Rule Compliance: Failing to comply with Jokerlap rules will result in disqualification from the Jokerlap results
